PROVIDING FUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 18 YEARS

Chi Delta Tau Alumni Association Foundation, Inc., otherwise known as Chi Delta Tau Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) charity that was founded in 1993. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide ongoing scholarship support to select members of Chi Delta Tau at Trinity University.

Over the past eighteen years, over 300 alumni and friends of Chi Delta Tau have provided the Foundation with the backing to provide nearly $140,000 in direct scholarship support to-date, with a permanent endowment valued at over $384,000 as of June 2011.

In 2010, our annual grants to students increased from the previous level of $13,000 to $17,500. In all, the Foundation’s total grant is distributed between four scholarships with three at $5,000 each being given to current members of the Fraternity, and one at $2,500 going to a Trinity student who is not a member of the Fraternity. Presently, the University’s Office of Financial Aid is responsible for determining all recipients.

SPECIAL EFFORT FOR 2011: FOUNDATION SEEKS TO RAISE
$25,000 FROM OUR SUPPORTERS FOR ISOM MEDIA CENTER AT
TRINITY UNIVERSITY.

In January 2011, Trinity began construction on a new structure on the south campus soccer field which will house a press box, webcast facility, and benches for the home a visiting teams. It will be named in memory of Chi Delt Tito Isom, who died unexpectedly in September of 2000. Tito was an outstanding soccer player, and good sportsman of high acclaim.

Given the connection to Chi Delta Tau, the Foundation Board felt that it would be appropriate to solicit donations for the$250,000 Isom Media Center, and make a donation in the name of Chi Delta Tau to the project. While donors may continue to restrict their donations to our scholarship program, for 2011 you will also have the option to make a donation to the Foundation which will be combined with other donations to make one, large gift to Trinity.
